About SUN LOFT
Sun Loft Studio is a warm and welcoming, private, by appointment-only art studio located on Awabakal country, Newcastle.
We would like to acknowledge and pay our respects to the traditional Awabakal people. We recognise and respect their cultural heritage, beliefs and continuing relationship with the land, and that they are the proud survivors of more than 200 years of dispossession.
An idea for many years, Sun Loft was created as an answer to the growing demand for machine-free, fine line tattoos, and the need for alternative creative spaces where all can feel comfortable.

THE SPACE
Sun Loft Studio is designed to be light, warm and welcoming.
The space bears little resemblance to the traditional tattoo parlour, with beautiful art, lots of plants and a sensory friendly layout that is designed with comfort and relaxation at heart.
Relax and enjoy some smooth tunes, soft aromas from our diffuser, and some great chats with your artist.
HYGIENE
Hygiene and safety are our number one priority. We want all our clients to know that artists are thoroughly trained in hygienic and safe tattoo procedures. Every artist at the studio holds certificates in environmental cleaning and disinfection, hand hygiene and infection prevention and control.
The studio and its artists are fully licensed and owner/operator Mia’s background in surgical nursing means the team is well educated and meticulous when it comes to cleanliness and safety. You can expect to feel completely at ease in the studio when it comes to hygiene!
OUR MISSION
We want all clients feel at home, free of judgment and able to speak freely about what they want. Our mission is for everyone to have a great experience here and feel good not just about their tattoo but about the process as well.
The studio is here to be welcoming to EVERYONE no matter your culture, gender or skin colour, particularly those who may have previously felt intimidated by traditional tattoo studios. We are open to suggestions too, so if there is something that we can change that would make you feel more at home then please let us know.
GIVING BACK
We know we are just a small business and that tattoos can't change the world but we believe that everyone can make a difference.
Sun Loft is proud to be a part of reforestation by donating to One Tree Planted. In our studio, 1 tattoo = 1 tree planted. Planting trees cleans the air, filters water and provides habitat for animals. One Tree Planted was able to plant 10 million trees in 2020!
